Mini vs Micro Fuse
Mini vs Micro Fuse
Mini, Micro2 and Micro3 are automotive blade-fuse form factors. Choose the form that matches the vehicle’s holder, then match the specified ampere rating; similar colors do not make different bodies interchangeable.
How to identify the replacement
Remove the old fuse with power off and compare its shape, blade layout, markings and rating with the vehicle manual or fuse-box legend. A Micro3 is not simply a wider Micro2: its three terminals serve two circuits. A low-profile Mini should not automatically be substituted for a standard Mini.
Voltage rating, ampere range and interrupt rating vary by series and maker. Look up the actual part’s datasheet rather than assigning one blanket rating to a fuse family. Fuse colors can help identify a current rating, but printed markings and part numbers are more reliable.
If a replacement opens again, diagnose the circuit instead of installing a higher-rated fuse or forcing a different form factor into the holder.
